Here are some shots from our main regatta, The President's Cup, which comprises of a round the cans in Dubai, a passage race from Dubai to Muscat (4-5 days) and a couple of round the cans in Muscat to complete the regatta. In 1996, Privateer won CHS Division 1 and got line honours on the passage race (setting a new record on 63.5 hours). In 1997 we swept the board, 1st CHS overall, 1st in Class 1 and 1st in Passage race (CHS). This time we were 11/4 hrs behind the Line Honours boat, a 35 foot Simon Rodgers design (DXB), and an hour behind a 43 foot Bruce Farr one-off design (Bootlegger) but beat them by around 4 & 8 hours respectively on handicap. 1998 saw work preclude me taking my boat but next year we are on again and hope to do as well as 1997.
